New simplified SMART model allows partners to increase their bottom line
VANCOUVER, B.C., April 10, 2012 – PEER 1 Hosting (TSX: PIX), the global IT hosting provider, announced its SMART Partner Program today. The enhanced program moves from a four-tier revenue-commitment model to a simple two-tier performance-based model.
The new SMART Partner Program has no minimum monthly requirement and offers referral partners a monthly commission for the life of original contract. If partners exceed $15,000 in referred monthly recurring revenue, they are upgraded to the SMART + (plus) program and their commissions become "evergreen".
"PEER 1 Hosting is committed to our partners and by eliminating the upfront revenue commitment, we believe it gives our partners a better model to do business," said Jose Santos, Director, Alliance and Partner Programs, PEER 1 Hosting. "We value the relationships that we have with our referral partners and we want to reward those who are high performing. The new SMART program allows us to do that."
The new simplified model helps referral partners succeed. With the previous program, on a $5,000 deal (24 month contract), partners at the bronze level would earn a one-time commission of $2,500. For the same deal with the new SMART program, partners will earn $9,600 over two years. That's a 300 per cent increase for former bronze level partners.

The new SMART Partner Program includes:
- Easy Back Office Management – Partners can easily calculate their commissions every month as there is no annual partner audit. Commission rates are steady from month to month.
- No Upfront Revenue Commitment – The performance-based model provides partners on the SMART program an eight per cent revenue share for the term of the original contract. SMART+ program offers twelve per cent revenue share that is evergreen.
- Dedicated Channel Representative –.Dedicated channel representatives work with partners to equip them with the knowledge, tools and marketing support to drive more referrals.
- Partner Portal Access – The Partner Portal remains the go-to place for partners. A newly added feature, a co-branded collateral plug-in, allows partners to upload their logos and contact information, and have the system create co-branded materials that are easy to download and share.
- Referral Events – Partners are invited to participate in regional events bringing together their customers and PEER 1 Hosting’s contacts for targeted networking.
